Hipobuy QC photos checklist

Use this checklist after your item arrives at the warehouse: what QC photos cover, what to check by category, and how long you usually have to decide. Spreadsheet thumbnails help you shortlist; your Hipobuy warehouse photos decide whether the item should leave China. Need help deciding keep or return (GL / RL)? Read the companion post.

What are Hipobuy QC photos?

Hipobuy QC (quality control) photos are warehouse inspection images taken after the seller delivers to Hipobuy’s China facility. Staff photograph the item tied to your order line—before you pay international freight.

That is different from spreadsheet thumbnails or community QC galleries, which show what other buyers received or what a row looked like when it was curated. Warehouse photos are the only QC that should drive your keep-or-reject call.

Three QC signals — only one decides whether your unit ships.

When do QC photos appear?

Here is the timeline after you paste a spreadsheet link into Hipobuy. Check your dashboard rather than assuming a fixed schedule:

  1. Pay the item price and domestic freight

Hipobuy reviews the order, often within a few working hours. Unpaid orders may auto-cancel after about 72 hours.

  2. The seller ships to the warehouse

Seller to warehouse often takes a few days domestically.

  3. Inbound inspection and QC photos uploaded

Staff photograph your unit. Check My Account → Orders / Warehouse — there is no fixed minute-by-minute SLA.

What Hipobuy inspects

In a typical agent acceptance flow, inbound staff verify style, quantity, color, size label, and visible defects. They photograph items for your review and flag problems. Electronics and sealed packages usually get exterior checks only—no power-on or authenticity testing.

Category checklists

Generic checks help every haul; category-specific cues catch the defects spreadsheet shoppers miss most often. Jump to shoes, clothing, or bags.

Shoes & sneakers

  • Model and colorway — match the variant you paid for, not just the silhouette.
  • Size tag and insole — read the EU / US / CM labels; ask for insole length if the chart was ambiguous.
  • Shape and symmetry — toe box, heel cup, and ankle collar on both shoes.
  • Stitching and glue — midsole glue marks, crooked logos, loose threads.
  • Box and extras — laces, spare laces, tissue, dust bag if the listing promised them.

Clothing & hoodies

  • Print and embroidery — placement versus the listing photos; spelling on text graphics.
  • Tags and labels — size, wash label, and brand tags readable in frame.
  • Fabric and weight — warehouse lighting washes colors out; compare angles, not seller renders.
  • Zippers and hardware — pull tabs, snaps, and drawstrings present on hoodies and jackets.
  • Measurements — ask for flat-lay chest and length photos if the fit is borderline.

Bags & accessories

  • Hardware and logos — zippers, buckles, clasps, and embossing versus the live listing.
  • Interior lining — color, pockets, and stitching wherever photos exist.
  • Straps and handles — length, stitching, edge paint, and alignment.
  • Shape and structure — creasing, collapsing panels, uneven panels.
  • Included pieces — dust bag, box, and cards only if the seller promised them.

The overall quality call

  • Wrong color, size, or model → open a ticket immediately.
  • A defect you would not accept in a store → reject it while the item is still in China.
  • A missing angle (interior label, back print) → request more photos before approving.
  • Listing screenshots help when you need to explain a mismatch to support.

Storage is for consolidating, not for ignoring problems

You usually get about 90 days of free storage from a Stored status. That window exists so you can build a haul from several spreadsheet orders. It is not a reason to postpone a bad QC. Confirm the live countdown in your account; expired items can be processed under platform rules.

What basic photo QC cannot prove

Lighting, angles, and sealed packaging all limit what staff can show. Authenticity certificates, long-term durability, and full electronics function tests usually sit outside a standard photo set.

Optional tools before you submit the parcel

Rehearsal or estimate packaging helps when the packed volume is unclear. Insurance products may cover loss, damage, or seizure depending on the plan you pick—read the current plan inside Hipobuy. Then continue to the Hipobuy shipping guide, and keep Fees & FX in mind so freight math and item-stage FX stay separate.
